About the Project
- EtherYatri.NET is a developer toolkit for building mobile agents on the Microsoft .NET Platform. It is the first toolkit in the world that blends the power and versatility of the Microsoft .NET Platform with the flexibility of the mobile agent paradigm.
Mobile agents are objects that can autonomously move on the network from one host to another along with their code and execution state. Unlike ordinary software objects, mobile agents are active entities. They are reactive to changes in their environment and act continuously in pursuit of their goals. Mobile agents are advantageous over conventional client-server technologies (like XML Web-Services) as they create lesser network traffic, overcome network latency, offer better fault tolerance and have several other advantages too.
With EtherYatri.NET you can take advantage of mobile agents and also use the full array of .NET techniques and technologies in your distributed applications. EtherYatri.NET makes it possible to write distributed applications on .NET that outperform those based on client-server technologies, like XML Web-Services and .NET Remoting.
